Our custom designed isolation booth has no parallel surfaces. this prevents sound from bouncing back and forth. Even the ceiling is angled. Two different densities of drywall were used and the panels were hung on resilient channel to prevent transmission. the floor is also isolated from. the walls and the subfloor. All surfaces are covered with two layers of moving blankets and the room is airtight. Reverberations are nonexistent. The result is a perfect space for recording vocals. There's a double paned lean window. The booth is wired for headphones, vocal microphone and an additional XLR for mic'ing guitar amps.

We typically record drums in the main studio space on the drum isolation platform at the end wall next to the isolation booth. The back wall is covered with sound diffusers. There's a bass trap in the corner and a sound absorber panel on the side wall. We get a pretty decent drum sound for a small space. If a larger room is required we have access to Le Richelieu and also Salle Marc l'Escarbot.

This is the main recording room in the studio. With an angled tongue and groove pine ceiling, heavy duty fireside drywall on the walls both covered with sound absorbent acoustic panels the sounds alive but controlled. Acoustic instruments record well in this room. There's a omni pencil condenser mic suspended from the ceiling. Full band live-off-the-floor is problematic so if the clients requires this arrangements can be made with Le Richelieu.

I prefer to mix in a big room with good acoustics. For this reason all editing and mixing is done at the DAW in the main studio room. The desk is set up at one end with adequate space behind and aside the desk and the monitors are on stands behind the desk on either side. There's a sound cloud hanging above the desk. this provides an excellent near field listening position while allowing me to step back in the room for perspective.

Mastering is performed in the main studio room from an elevated stool in the centre of the room. The Kef's powered by a reference power amplifier are used for this and they are angled as you would set up a HiFi system. The Studio One Professional Project page is used for this and controlled by remote using an iPad. The Project page is where we input the metadata like song title, credits, ISRC code etc and allows for digital releases as well as Redbook CD packages (DDP) ready for distribution.

le Richelieu is a hunting lodge style event venue in Meteghan River. It has a capacity of 185 people so the room is fairly large, with a high double pitched ceiling. here's a large stone fireplace on one wall and a stage in the corner beside it. Live events can be hosted there and there's a powered EV speaker system. The room is ruler flat with a really nice live ambience that's perfect for recording drums. Live off the floor can be used successfully here with use of some gobos and blankets. The room would also be great for video shoots. We are friends with the owners and can negotiate a fair price for daytime weekdays when the place is not in use.
