Once all the tracks have been recorded it’s time to begin editing. The best take for each track is selected. In some cases comping is required to replace sections of track where performance mistakes were made. If there’s any noises in the tracks such as breath, string noise between parts, etc these are cut out. If necessary beats or notes are moved and pitch correction is applied. Fade ins and outs are made. It’s tedious work but necessary for a professional recording.
